Dear Members,

It is one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year for our ICS team as we prepare for our Annual Event on December 13th 2015.

This year's event theme is RAAGA BEATS!

The main idea of the theme is to get a peek into the diversity of the classical raagas, elaborating on how the different combinations of musical notes evoke a particular sentiment or creates a mood of the time of day.

Many thanks to our talented group pf choreographers who have graciously volunteered their time.

Annual Show "Raaga Beats"


Our event will be two part as always, the first part comprising of ICS dances followed by a scrumptious dinner, and a theater production by ICS, "Its About Time!"

ICS Graduating Senior Awards:

Volunteering for ICS:

NOTE: Volunteer hours will be credited to high school students for helping on the day of the event. Dance participants are eligible to get 10 volunteer hours as students participating in a cultural event promoting their heritage.

Dear Members,

ICS extends a warm welcome to all our new members who joined us last month and expresses much gratitude to the ones who have renewed their memberships and keep supporting us year after year.

As this Khabar is being written, we are still bubbling with happiness (and tending to our achy feet ) over our Bollywood Dandiya success this past Saturday. Dear Members,

The days are getting shorter and nights longer, many of you are busy with children going back to school and our thoughts automatically turn to Fall. AT ICS we had an exciting summer.

With much joy, we would like to share that out first ever Holi was a tremendous success. Members and non-members immensely enjoyed this colorful festival and from the amount of enthusiasm and participation shown by all, this event is sure to come back next year. Click here for pictures

Also, we would not be able to get on to our fall events if we did not mention how proud the ICS team made us at the South Asian Theater Festival with their staging of "Tartuffe". It was extremely well received and the cast was also invited to perform at yet another theater festival in the Washington D.C. area. Congrats to the entire team!

TARTUFFE @ CROSSROADS THEATER


If you have only heard from your friends about "Tartuffe" and have not been able to see the show yet, this is your chance to catch yet another performance by the team. Agraj Seva Kendra in association with ICS will be staging "Tartuffe" at Crossroads Theater. This event is partly funded by Middlesex County Cultural & Heritage Commission/Johnson & Johnson, Crossroads Theater/New Brunswick Cultural Center. Don't miss this opportunity!!!

INDIAN DANCE WORKSHOP AT EB Public Library


East Brunswick Public Library in association with ICS will be hosting a 2 hour Indian dance workshop, choreographer Dhruv Sandilya will share and teach steps of this art form to all those that attend. Get more information by clicking here.

AUDITIONS for Dec 2015 ICS Annual Post Dinner Play


On the heels of Tartuffe’s success, we will be bringing you another ICS production at our Annual event this year. But we need your participation. Audition for this play, and you could be playing one of the greatest, classical theater roles! All that is needed is YOU!


Love theater, but not the limelight? We still need you! There are many crucial behind-the-scene jobs without which a theater would be incomplete. So please participate. Together we can make it happen!

Dear Members,

Hope you are having a glorious summer!!! We cannot believe that we are already halfway through the year but as they say, when you are busy doing things or having fun, time does fly fast. We wanted to reach out to you to let you know that there are quite a few exciting events coming your way, including some that we are introducing for the very first time.

Talking about new things, do send us your feedback about the new registration and payment system that you used for picnic registrations. You have always been there for us whenever we try something new – and it’s this support that encourages us to expand our horizons, and indulge in THE NEXT BIG THING...

TARTUFFE at SATF & Our annual ICS production

As you all know, last year’s ICS production "Tartuffe" was extremely well received by our members. This year, it is being staged at the South Asian Theater Festival (SATF) alongside several major productions by acclaimed directors. We are extremely proud of this.

Dear Members,

Spring has arrived in its full glory. We hope you are enjoying the warm weather and myriad of colors that Mother Nature has bestowed upon us. As you venture outdoors and engage in fun activities with your friends and family, we hope you make our upcoming ICS events a part of your calendar too.

Our BOWLING AND TALENT SHOW events were a huge success and we were really happy to see such a great turnout for both events. Registrations for both the events exceeded attendance of prior years and we couldn't be happier!

Relay for Life

Join ICS as we participate at a Relay for Life event to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer - just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!

Relay For Life teams take turns walking or running around a track or path at Heavenly Farms in EB. Events are 12 hours long, starting at 12:00 pm and ends at 12:00am, and because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track. Register at the link below and raise funds to cure cancer.

Make a difference! Join us as we volunteer at a statewide volunteer event. We hope you too have had a wonderful holiday season, stayed safe and warm in the winter and are as ready for the New Year as we are!


At ICS, your 2014 Committee savored your accolades of yet another stellar annual event which showcased our kids, our adults and volunteer choreographers. And best of all, we reveled in the success of our first ICS production - TARTUFFE!


One thing we haven't done though - is rest on our laurels! So,while NJ slumbered under snow and ice, we convened our Annual General Body meeting, and have even had our first powwow!


So, with great pleasure we introduce to you the ICS 2015 TEAM. For the first time, our Executive Committee has 3 past presidents. A wealth of past experience and wisdom to guide us this year!
