Indian Cultural Society Arts Education and Advocacy Camp Interest Survey
Please take a quick survey at: forms.gle/amHF2rTd4oit2oax9
Dear Parents,
We are excited to announce that Indian Cultural Society (ICS) is launching an arts education and advocacy camp in collaboration with coLab Arts! This *camp* is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge to artistically respond to complex issues affecting our communities through movement, voice, performance, and design.
In South Asian communities, there is often a strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. However, we believe that arts education is equally important in fostering creativity, empathy, and critical thinking skills, especially when it comes to addressing social and community issues.
This camp will run from *July 22nd to August 2nd*, from *9 am to 3 pm*, in *New Brunswick*. Students will have the option to participate for *one week or two weeks*, depending on their preference and availability.
*Camp Highlights*:
1) Training in artistic responses to complex community issues
2) Exploration of movement, voice, performance, and design
3) Limited seats available
*Age group- 13-18*
*NO ICS MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE CAMP*
4) A performance at the end of the camp, where parents will be invited into the space
If you are interested in enrolling your child in the ICS Arts Education Camp, *please fill out the following survey*. This will help us gauge interest and ensure that we can accommodate all interested students.
*Once we receive your responses, we will add you to our mailing list and you will be the first ones to be notified when registrations open for the camp.*
Thank you for your interest in the ICS Arts Education Camp! We look forward to providing a enriching and transformative experience for your child. ... See MoreSee Less

This is an excellent opportunity for kids grade 7-12 from all school districts. Last year, the winning play was called Refugees and was staged at the ICS Theatre fest. It was a very special play as the director casted neurodivergent kids and created a beautiful multi-dimensional imagery on stage.
