Daisy is currently in the market for an off-terrain wheelchair or attachment to put on our current wheelchairs. With many of our programs taking place in a park and many of our trips involving non-paved pathways, it is important for us to have wheelchairs that can sustain the uneven terrain that we often encounter. Currently, the Daisy program requires 2-4 wheelchairs at a time when going on trips. Having the ability to easily access our unpaved pathways and terrain broadens the locations we can access with our special needs population. Most immediately, accessing our background and immediate grounds in Bicentennial Park will be remarkably easier and safer for our participants in wheelchairs. 

While a brand new wheelchair adapted for all-terrain begins at $2200, we’d like to purchase kits to adapt our current wheelchairs. These kits are approximately $775 each, including shipping. This year, I’d like to purchase two to three of them, which would bring our grand total to between $1500 and $2400. We hope with the help of ICS, we will be able to make this purchase!
