ICS Theatre was established in 2014 as a theater wing for ICS of East Brunswick, a not-for-profit organization established in 1999. ICS is a diverse and welcoming group of families who enjoy keeping the Indian culture alive. It truly is a melting pot just like India’s cultural mix.
With an ensemble of seasoned actors and interested novices, ICS Theatre under ICS stages its own theater performances encouraging local talent of ICS members. ICS Theatre is dedicated to creating an engaging experience for the members.
ICS Theatre has already staged several successful productions, from classics like Moliere’s “Tartuffe” to one act plays like David Ives’ “All in the Timing”, Christopher Durang’s “An Actors’ Nightmare”, theater workshop production of “Twelve Incompetent Jurors” to productions like William Kovacsik’s “The Masrayana”. ICS Theatre has been fortunate to have worked under the guidance of renowned directors such as Dr. Farley Richmond and Mr. Mahesh Dattani.
Our plays have been staged at several prestigious theater festivals like the South Asian Theater Festivals in NJ and Ohio.
In the ever-changing theatrical landscape, ICS Theatre stages plays that speak to its audience. In the coming years, ICS Theatre expects to significantly broaden its reach and scope, involving more enthusiastic people in the theater arts through opportunities on stage, backstage and in the audience.
